Saif Ali Khan's upcoming movie 'Chef', which happens to be his second release of the year, has been postponed for release and will now hit the theatres in October. According to the media reports, the movie, which happens to be the remake of a Hollywood movie 'Chef', was ealier slated to release on July 14. However, the makers pushed the release date to avoid any box-office clash. It was reported that 'Chef' will clash with Ranbir Kapoor-Katrina Kaif's much delayed movie 'Jagga Jasoos'
Confirming the shift in the release of 'Chef', director Raja Krishna Menon stated, “July 14 became over-crowded. There are too many releases in the first two weeks if July. We’re looking into a new release date. The producers feel we should get some sort of passage to ensure a proper release. Nowadays we have to consider Hollywood releases also while seeking a proper release date. I think there is too much time, effort and passion involved in the making of a film to be adamant about a release date.”
With this postponement, 'Chef' will now hit the screens on October 6.
Directed by Raja Krishna Menon and produced by T-Series and Abundantia Entertainment, the movie also stars south actor Padmapriya and child artiste Svar Kamble.
The original American comedy drama, that released in 2014, was written, produced and directed by Jon Favreau.
The film revolves around the life of a professional chef which will be played by Saif Ali Khan, who quits his job at a popular Los Angeles restaurant, to launch a food truck with his friend and son.
