Despite crossing the Rs.100 crore club as most of Salman Khan’s films always have been, his Tubelight film wasn’t received with a lot of positive ravings by movie goers. Bhai, who is busy with the promotions of his upcoming production Notebook, talked about the importance of release dates while also going candid by not shielding anything about his much-talked about failure, Tubelight.
Talking about the failure of Tubelight, Salman gave a reason we never saw coming. Dubbing the failure to an Eid release Salman adds, "As I had said during the release, people will watch Tubelight as a celebratory film and would have some fun watching it. And we knew what the script of the film. It shouldn't have been an Eid release. I was told that we had Eid as the day for release but I was against it. At that point I should have put my foot down. Tubelight should have a been released on a normal Friday. The film is much loved on TV and digital. So, the release of Tubelight was at the wrong time,".
And there lies the answer for the Tubelight failure you have been searching for, according to Salman.
Salman is meanwhile working on his upcoming project Bharat which is also slated to be an Eid release.
