Salman Khan conviction: Bollywood celebs come out in support of 'Sultan', admit to be 'saddened by blackbuck verdict'

Bollywood superstar Salman Khan's conviction in the 20-year old blackbuck poaching case has come as a big shock for the entire movie industry.

He was convicted of killing two blackbucks - an endangered species - in 1998 while he was shooting for his movie Hum Saath Saath Hain.

Salman's co-accused stars Tabu, Sonali Bendre, Saif Ali Khan and Tabu were acquitted of the charges in the poaching case.

While the Sultan actor was awarded a sentence of five years in jail, his conviction has sent down a wave of grief in the industry.

In fact, several celebs took it to micro-blogging site Twitter to express their views on Salman Khan's conviction in the blackbuck poaching case.

I know for a fact that Salman bhai and his family have the utmost respect and faith in our judiciary system. @BeingSalmanKhan is one of the strongest and most genuine people I know and I’m sure he will come out of this stronger.

It’s really wrong that Court has sent Salman khan to jail. Who will be responsible if something will happen to him in the Jail. Jodhpur jail is not safe for him at all.
