One actor who has never been very lucky with awards irrespective of the business he garnered at the box office is Salman Khan. The actor also never received a National award in his entire career but doesn't consider it as any kind of demotivation. ironically, one of his best-paired co-star Katrina Kaif who owes much of her success to Salman has rarely been appreciated with awards.
It is a known fact that Katrina holds a rather special place in Salman's heart and come what may, he's always going to have her back so much so that recently when an 8interview with Bollywood Hungama, Salman was asked to name the film for which Katrina was nominated as the Filmfare Best Actress, he lost his cool.
"What is being nominated? She deserves an award. And what are these awards? She deserves National Award. So you put Katrina Kaif in the nominations and that will play everywhere on television. But then you don't give her the award. Why because someboy else went and performed there? These award functions, if they are giving, if they are nominating her then I believe that either actors should get paid for the nominations because all the publicity relies on it and the telecast of it but then someone else walks away with the award...It's not fair na? ", complained Salman about the awards and also added that he doesnot want to answer an award show related question.
Incidentally, the actor during the promotional events for his upcoming movie Bharat said that he doesn't want a National Award or any other award. "I just want rewards. I get my National Award when people go to the theatres to watch my films. There's no reward bigger than the entire nation watching my film." said the actor. He even went on to say the Katrina deserves a National award for her performance in Bharat.
Katrina was last seen in Zero. Although the movie was a box office thud, Katrina scored a commendable performance in the role of a damsel in distress, Babita, according to many critics. Well, the movie buffs have to wait for June 5 to know if Katrina is worth a national award this time!
