'Tubelight': Is Chinese actress Zhu Zhu disappointed with audience response for Salman Khan-starrer?

It's been a week since Salman Khan's recent release 'Tubelight' hit the screens but despite being the most talked about movie of the year, this Kabir Khan directorial has failed to garner the expected response. Going by the box office trends, 'Tubelight' had to struggle to enter the coveted Rs 100 crore club. While the makers are reported quite unhappy with the movie's box office collection, the female lead of the movie Zhu Zhu too is disappointed by the audience response.

Reportedly, the Chinese actress is quite upset with the way 'Tubelight' fared at the box office that she ended up cancelling her India visit.

According to a report published in Pinkvilla, Zhu Zhu was planning to visit India post the release of 'Tubelight' in order to make it up for her absence during the promotions of the movie. However, after the movie's disappointing reviews, Zhu Zhu reportedly called of her trip.

The media reports suggest that after eight days of release 'Tubelight' has minted a total of Rs 111.11 crore at the box office and witnessed a constant dip in its collections with every passing day.

In fact, as per Bollywood trade analyst Akshaye Rathi, 'Tubelight' will reportedly have a hard time reaching Rs 200 crore.

“I feel the movie can collect somewhere in the range of Rs 150 crore plus in its lifetime run. Next weekend we only have Transformers: The Last Knight, which will take just one screen from every multiplex and single screens. But largely, in its second weekend too, it is going to be Tubelight all over the country. There is no other choice that the public has at the moment. So it will continue to rake in the moolah," Bollywood trade analyst Akshaye Rathi was quoted saying to Bollywood Life.

Notably, 'Tubelight' happens to be Kabir Khan's third collaboration with Salman after 'Ek Tha Tiger' and 'Bajrangi Bhaijaan'. The movie is based on the backdrop of India-China 1962 war and also stars Sohail Khan, Chinese actress Zhu Zhu, late actor Om Puri and child actor Matin Rey Tangu.
