Salman Khan starrer 'Tubelight' which is happened to be one of the most awaited movies of the year, has failed to get a monstrous start unlike other Salman Khan flicks.
After shattering a series of Box office records with 2015 Bollywood drama 'Bajrangi Bhaijaan', Kabir Khan and Salman Khan duo was expected to deliver a similar kind of delight yet another time but the picture has turned out completely opposite.
Though the movie has managed to enter the coveted 100 Crore Club only after six days of its release, it has disappointed million of hearts. Hence, it is nothing new to inform that the war drama is one of the slowest movies of Salman Khan in crossing the Rs 100 Cr mark.
"I am disappointed," PTI quoted Kabir Khan.
"You make a film with a lot of love and conviction and if it doesn't do well the way it was expected to do, it's disheartening," the filmmaker added further though the movie will remain always special for him irrespective of what response it received at the box office.
"We can't expect every film to do the business like 'Bajrangi Bhaijaan'. Every film of mine is put against 'Bajrangi Bhaijaan' and it is unfair. I am extremely proud of 'Tubelight'. It's too early to analyse what went wrong with the film. Maybe people were not able to identify with the character of Salman. But I was happy with what Salman did and even he was playing this part," Kabir stated.

Being described as one of the biggest debacles of Salman Khan's career, the Kabir Khan film amassed around Rs 114.84 Crore in three weeks whereas it needs to earn Rs 300-350 Cr minimum in order to make any profit.
"Distributors have bought the film at high prices considering how Salman Khan’s film performs on Eid. They were expecting the film to do an overall box office business of Rs 300-350 crore so that they can make profit," trade analyst Girish Johar was quoted while interacting with reporters.
"The public has not gone to watch the film. Had they liked Tubelight, people would have gone to watch the film after Eid. So I don’t think the absence of any big movie this weekend is going to benefit Salman Khan film," he stated further.
According to source, some distributors may also suffer a loss of around Rs 50-70 Cr on the film.
Meawhile, speculations are high that Salman would refund distributors to compensate for the losses incurred by 'Tubelight'.
When asked about it, Kabir says, "I am not a producer, I am a line producer of the film. I can't talk about it as it's about business. I think it is a great thing. It's a good gesture by Salman. (But) For the film itself the cost is successful."

While, 'Tubelight', the war drama was expected to beat Salman's last release 'Sultan' by garnering a humongous collection, quite surprissingly it has failed to surpass the former.
Earlier famous biz analyst Taran Adarsh took to twitter to share the first day collection of Salman's last five releases where 'Tubelight' had the least first day earning, while 'Sultan' topped the list.
Salman and Eid - Day 1...

Though, in terms of box office collection the movie has broken hearts of many, Dabang Khan once again managed to impress the audience with his acting ability.
The movie is expected to face another set back with the release of a bunch of interesting movies like 'MOM', 'Guest Iin London' and 'Spider-Man: Homecoming' on Friday.
Set against the backdrop of the India-China War of 1962, 'Tubelight' is a tale of two brothers and their unconditional love and faith in life.

Solid star power. Stunning visuals. But #Tubelight is body beautiful, minus soul. — taran adarsh (@taran_adarsh) June 23, 2017
