Bollywood actor and Bigg Boss Season 7 contestant Armaan Kohli has been arrested by the Mumbai Police on Thursday night for allegedly hiding illegal liquor at his house. As per a media report, more than 41 scotch whiskey bottles were found at the actor’s place in Mumbai. Currently, a police case has been registered against Armaan.
As stated by a senior officer of Mumbai Police, they have found many bottles according to the rules, and for that Armaan Kohli can be jailed for three years under section 63(E) of Bombay Liquor Prohibition Act, 1949. According to the law, no Indian citizen can keep more than 12 bottles and during the travel, not more than two bottles. However, 41 bottles were found at Armaan’s place.
Earlier in June, the actor was arrested for allegedly assaulting his girlfriend. The arrest by Santacruz police came on a complaint filed on June 4 by Armaan’s girlfriend, a 35-year-old model, the official said. Based on her statement, Kohli was booked under sections 323 (punishment for voluntarily causing hurt), 504 (intentional insult with intent to provoke breach of the peace) and 506 (punishment for criminal intimidation) and other relevant sections of the IPC.
According to the complainant, she was in a relationship with 46-year-old actor for past three years and they used to stay together in a flat in suburban Santacruz, the official said. The duo had an argument over some monetary issue at their residence on Sunday evening (of June 3) and during the altercation, he allegedly pushed the woman and she fell from the stairs, according to the complaint. She has added that she suffered head and knee injuries in the incident and was admitted to a hospital by her driver.
Armaan has appeared in several Bollywood films like Jaani Dushman: Ek Anokhi Kahani and 2003 release LOC: Kargil. He was last seen in Sooraj Barjatya directorial Prem Ratan Dhan Payo starring Salman Khan and Sonam Kapoor. The actor gained popularity after featuring on superstar Salman Khan-hosted reality TV show Bigg Boss Season 7.
