Dia Mirza, who is gearing up for her next movie Sanjay Dutt’s biopic, admitted that she is excited to be a part of the project. She further asserted that she is glad to be directed by an ace filmmaker like Rajkumar Hirani.
The diva will be seen playing the role of Manyata in the movie opposite Ranbir Kapoor, who will essay the role of Sanjay Dutt.
Talking about the same, Dia told an entertainment portal, “I am working on Sanjay Dutt’s biopic right now, and I am really excited about it. It’s wonderful film to be part of, and to be directed by my favorite filmmaker”.
Interestingly, this is the first time Dia Mirza will be essaying a real-life character on the big screen.
“I think for an actor, the work is only as difficult as a written material. With the team so sound and with such a wonderful environment out there, you feel nothing but to put your best foot forward,” Dia was quoted as saying.
She further added, “I would like to believe that whether it is playing a real-life character or fictional character, the idea is to understand what you are doing and the purpose of your presence should matter.”
Apart from Dia and Ranbir, the ‘Khalnayak’ actor’s biopic also stars Paresh Rawal, Manisha Koirala, Anushka Sharma, Sonam Kapoor etc in pivotal roles.
The movie is expected to release on Christmas this year.
