Sanjay Dutt who has impressed millions with his power-pack performances recently had an overwhelming experience when a fan left all her money and belonging to the ‘Munna Bhai MBBS’ actor’s name.
According to a report in Mumbai Mirror, a 62-year old woman from Mumbai’s Malabar Hill named Sanjay Dutt as the inheritor of all her valuables. The woman named Nishi Harishchandra Tripathi died on January 15 after suffering from a terminal illness and issued scores of letters to the bank, willing all she had to the actor’s name, as per the report.
The ‘Khalnayak’ actor is said to be shooting in Kolkata when Mumbai Police informed him about the same. Dutt who was last seen in ‘Bhoomi’ said that he is shocked and surprised by the sweet gesture of the deceased lady.
The 58-year-old star politely declined to have any of her belongings and told Mumbai Mirror, ‘’ As actors, we are used to fans naming their children after us, chasing us down the street and even giving us gifts. But this has shocked me. I will not be claiming anything. I did not know Nishi and I am very overwhelmed by the entire incident to speak about it.’’
The ‘Sajan’ actor’s attorney told Mumbai Mirror, ‘’We have communicated that Sanjay Dutt will be seeking no claim on the belongings and will adhere to any legal proceedings necessary to transfer the valuables back to the family’’.
Sanjay Dutt will soon be back in action with 'Saheb Biwi Aur Gangster 3' which is slated to hit the silver screens on July 27.
