Leela Bhansali this time has tried his hands on an anti-hero project as it is based on ruthless ruler Alauddin Khilji's obsession for Mewar queen Padmavati. Reportedly Director Sanjay Leela Bhansali will be composing music for his forthcoming period drama “Padmavati”.
“He (Bhansali) is going to do music for ‘Padmavati’. Music has always been an integral part of his films. It’s too early to say anything on what music it (film) will have,” sources said.
Earlier, Bhansali had scored the music for “Guzaarish”, “Ram Leela” and “Bajirao Mastani”.
Though there is no official confirmation on the cast of Bhansali’s upcoming period drama, Deepika Padukone and Ranveer Singh are likely to team up again for the film. Actor Shahid Kapoor’s name has also cropped up to play Deepika’s on-screen husband, but nothing has been confirmed yet.
“Padmavati” will be a period drama based on the story of Sultan Alauddin Khilji and his obsession for Rani Padmavati. Deepika will play Padmavati while Ranveer is likely to enact the role of Khilji. Besides music, Bhansali has also done extensive research for “Padmavati”.
“He is leaving no stone unturned to get everything right for ‘Padmavati’,” sources added.
