Sara Ali Khan is on her way to become the next biggest thing to Bollywood after Alia Bhatt. The Kedarnath actress has already bagged an Imtiaz Ali film so early in her career and even before the wrap up of the shoot she has signed a new film, a comedy opposite Varun Dhawan.
The movie will be an adaptation of Govinda and Karisma Kapoor starrer superhit movie Coolie No 1 and will be directed by David Dhawan who has also directed the original movie.
According to a report in Mumbai Mirror, his son Varun will step into Govinda's shoes, Sara Ali Khan will take over Karisma Kapoor's pivotal role in the film.
The film, which is reportedly set to go on floors this July, marks the third collaboration of the father-son duo after Main Tera Hero and Judwaa 2. The report quotes writer-director Farhad Samji, who revealed to the publication that he's penned the dialogue draft of the film and has even earned Varun's nod. Varun has reportedly begun to prep for dialogues months ahead of the film.
He has been quoted as saying, “It is a boon for any writer to work with a dedicated actor like Varun. I narrated the dialogue draft to him recently and he immediately asked me for a copy, so he could rehearse his lines even though there is still time for the film to go on the floors. I am looking forward to teaming up with Sara for the second time.”
The writer-director revealed that the film will have “plenty of humour and colour, larger-than-life songs” and will be helmed on a “lavish scale”.
Varun will be next seen in Kalank opposite Alia Bhatt. A song 'First Class' from the movie will release today. The movie will release nationwide on April 17. There were also reports that Sara has been roped in for Rannbhoomi, but there was no confirmation about the same from the makers and now rumours are abuzz that Janhvi Kapoor will play the lead role in Varun Dhawan starrer movie produced by Karan Johar.
