Filmmaker Sriram Raghavan has earned him a good name with critically acclaimed movies like Badlapur and more recently AndhaDhun that was commercially successful and went on to become best critics choice movie.
Incidentally, Shah Rukh Khan who is too sceptical about signing new movies after his movies failed to impress fans lately, is taking calculated steps and now is eyeing to be a part of Raghavan's upcoming project. According to sources, SRK was so impressed with Sriram Raghavan’s AndhaDhun that he called the filmmaker to congratulate him and have a chat.
“I have not pitched a script. I just met him (SRK). He had liked 'Andhadhun' and invited me over. We had a chat. I told him if I have something I'll definitely come to him. I've got his number now and I can always approach him. I would love to see him in my world of cinema but I need to get the right script,” AndhaDhun director Sriram Raghavan told PTI. Although, nothing has been finalized as of yet, however, we certainly can hope that Sriram comes up with a script quickly and collaborates with Shah Rukh Khan.
Filmmaker Amit Sharma of Badhaai Ho fame has also met SRK but refuted any claims of finalizing any project with him but expressed his desire to work with him.
SRK has already established himself as a character with grey shades in movies like Baazigar, Darr or even Anjaam and was unmatched in that era. Maybe, he needs to revisit that space considering his last few films have tanked at the box-office and not loved by fans either.
Raghavan started his career by producing a 45-minute docufiction on Indian serial killer Raman Raghav and in 2004 bagged his first directorial venture Ek Hasina Thi produced by Ram Gopal Varma, starring Urmila Matondkar and Saif Ali Khan.
