Shah Rukh Khan has been a people’s star and despite few underperformances on the box-office, the majestic charm of the King Khan has never failed to impress his millions of fans. His recent release Zero garnered mixed reviews from the critics as well as the audiences across the country. The actor who was busy shooting for this Aanand L Rai directorial, co-starring Anushka Sharma and Katrina Kaif, will soon begin his next project based on the life of Rakesh Sharma, India’s first space traveller. To add more icing, a media report suggests that Shah Rukh has also signed for the third installment of the Don series.
Titled as Saare Jahaan Se Achchan, the Shah Rukh-starrer will go on floors in March. The biopic is being directed by Mahesh Mathai, and if reports are to be true, then the sets are already being built in Mumbai’s Film City. According to a report on PeepingMoon.com, SRK has green-signalled Don 3, which was in the pipeline for a long time now.
In a report published in ZoomTV, a source has been quoted as saying, “Farhan (Akhtar) and his team were working on the script of Don 3 for the last one and a half years. They have finally locked the script and believe me, it’s going to be the best of the franchise. Don 3 will have a completely different storyline, unlike Don 2 which was the continuation of the first part.”
“SRK told Farhan to shoot Don 3 only after he is done with Saare Jahaan Se Achcha on which Farhan happily agreed as he himself has some acting commitments which need to be completed before he dives into his next directorial,” the source said further.
Meanwhile, Zero is having a lagging run at the box office, despite extensive promotions and widest release in around 4,380 screens. The film collected Rs 20.14 crore on its opening day. And on Saturday, it merely earned Rs 18.22 crore. The film witnessed a further dip on Sunday but gradually managed to cross the 50 crore mark.
The Aanand L Rai directorial is jointly produced by Gauri Khan’s Red Chillies Entertainment and Colour Yellow Productions.
