Shah Rukh Khan and Akshay Kumar, without any mention, are two of Bollywood biggest stars with more than 20 years in the spotlight yet it is not often we see the Badshah and the Khiladi share screen onscreen. Their absence on the main-screen together makes fans wonder what the reason is. The answer of Shah Rukh Khan not being able to do films with Akshay Kumar, though he wants to is one you never saw coming.
Sitting down for an interview, when SRK was asked about the same, Shah Rukh Khan gave an answer which is on-so-relatable for people who hates to wake up early, he said, “What do I say to this? I don’t wake up as early as him. I go to sleep when Akshay is waking up. His day starts early. By the time I start working, he is packing up and going home. So he can put in more hours of work. I’m a nocturnal person. Not many people are fond of shooting at night like me.”
SRK further added that even if they work together in a film they will not be meeting on the sets of the film. He, further explained why it would be fun to work with Akshay, “It will be fun to act with Akshay. Dono set pe hi nahin milenge. (Woh jaa raha hoga aur main aa raha hounga (laughs). He’ll be leaving the set and I’ll be coming in. I would like to work like Akshay but our timings won’t match.”
Akshay Kumar featured in Shah Rukh Khan’s 1997 film Dil Toh Pagal Hai while King Khan made a special cameo in the song Mast Kalandar in Kumar’s 2007 release Heyy Babyy, Akshay Kumar also making a cameo in the 2007 SRK movie, Om Shanti Om.
