After basking in the success of his last release Padmaavat, Shahid Kapoor has begun shooting for his upcoming movie Batti Gul Meter Gul. The movie, which happens to be a social comedy-drama, is being shot in the locales of Tehri, Uttarakhand.
Shahid Kapoor, who is excited to be a part of Batti Gul Meter Chalu, shared his first look from the sets on Instagram. He wrote, “Day 1. On set. Batti Gul meter Chalu.Here we go. #goodpeople #goodvibes.â€
In the picture, Shahid is seen wearing a thick black jacket as he rides a bike amidst high security.
Reportedly, the ‘mahurat shot of the movie was clapped by Uttarakhand chief minister Trivendra Singh.
Talking about the movie, Shahid said in his recent interview, “Shree Narayan Singh, in Toilet Ek Prem Katha, talked about issues women faced with open defecation. Now he has chosen the electricity issue which will make the film very relatable to the common man.â€
“The story is based in Uttarakhand so I will be using a certain accent and dialect for the film. After playing a King, I will be seen as a small city lawyer,†he added.Â
Helmed by Shree Narayan Singh, Batti Gul Meter Chalu also stars Yami Gautam and Shraddha Kapoor in key roles.
