Award shows are never devoid of controversies and the latest report that is causing hush-hush talks suggests that Shahid Kapoor left an award show after ‘promised’ Best Actor award was given to Ranveer Singh instead. As per PinkVilla reports, Shahid was said to be given the award for his role as Kabir in the controversial Sandeep Reddy Vanga movie, Kabir Singh. However, come the time for the best actor award, the trophy was given to Singh instead causing Shahid to walk away from the award show without performing.
"It was an understanding that Shahid will perform because he was bagging the award. He had rehearsed for the performance too."
"Shahid apparently lost his cool on the organisers because it was an unprofessional move on their part to sneakily change the whole scenario. He was reportedly very upset with how the whole thing was addressed. The award was then presented to Ranveer Singh and Shahid then supposedly walked out of the show. He was to perform but he decided not to record his performance as well’’ the source by the entertainment portal reports.
Ranveer Singh won two awards at the Star Screen Awards, one for Best actor in leading role for Gully Boy and the other for ‘Entertainer of the Year’. Co-star, Alia Bhatt also won the best actor in female category.
