Simmba: Ranveer Singh to play quirky cop in KJo-Rohit Shetty collaboration

Ace filmmaker Karan Johar is on a roll these days. It's been a couple of days when he announced his next production Sadak featuring Jahnvi Kapoor and Ishaan Khattar.

And now KJo is up with his next project Simmba which will feature Ranveer Singh in the lead. Interestingly, Simmba will mark Johar collaboration with the Golmaal Again director Rohit Shetty who will be helming this project.

Karan took it to micro-blogging site Twitter to share the news of this big project. He shared a teaser poster of the movie featuring Ranveer Singh in the role of a quirky cop.

According to the media reports, Ranveer will be seen in his usual energetic self as he portrays the role of the most notorious cop Sangram Bhalerao.

Indeed, it will be interesting to see Rohit directing one of his favorite actor whom he adores for his energy level.

“He is a superstar. His energy is not restricted. He does not think, ‘If I perform in a certain way, what will this or that person think.’ That’s the quality of a superstar. You have to connect with the masses if you have to be a superstar,” Rohit Shetty was quoted saying in one of his interviews.

Rohit will reportedly start shooting for this hardcore action drama Simmba sometime around April next year and the movie will hit the screens on December 28, 2018.
