R Madhavan has confirmed that he will not be a part of Rohit Shetty's upcoming directorial Simmba. The movie stars Ranveer Singh in the lead.
The actor took it to micro-blogging site Twitter to express his disappointment as he has missed out an opportunity to work with one of his favorite directors.
Madhavan wrote, "I am a huge crazy fan of Rohit Shetty and his films. As is my son. It breaks both our hearts that I’m not able to be a part of this film because of my injury. I’m well on my way to recovery but this is a huge opportunity and excitement lost".
Notably, Madhavan was quite excited to work with Rohit and Ranveer in Simmba. In fact, in one of his interviews, the Tanu Weds Manu actor was all praises for Ranveer and was looking forward begin shooting for the movie.
As per the recent buzz, Madhavan will be replaced by Abhishek Bachchan in the Rohit Shetty directorial.
Talking about Simmba, the movie happens to be inspired by Jr NTR’s Telugu movie Temper. Ranveer will be seen playing the role of a cop named Sangram Bhalerao. Besides, the movie will also feature Sara Ali Khan as the female lead.
The movie is likely to hit the floors in April and is expected to release in December this year.
