'Noor' box office collection day 1: Sonakshi-starrer earns Rs 1.54 cr

Sonakshi Sinha's recent release 'Noor' witnessed a dull start at the box office with a low collection of Rs 1.54 crore on its day of release. The movie which has Sonakshi in the role of a journalist, witnessed approximately 10% of the total occupancy rate in the morning which pretty low.

Besides, 'Noor' also received mixed reviews from the audience. Although, Sona's performance was well appreciated in the movie, it couldn't leave a mark on the audience. Bollywood trade analyst Taran Adarsh took it to micro-blogging site Twitter to share the box office collection of the movie.

He tweeted, "#Noor has a dull start... Fri ₹ 1.54 cr <1450 screens>. India biz... Needs a major jump over the weekend to leave a mark."

Notably, the movie has witnessed the lowest start of the year 2017. Earlier, Rana Daggubatti's 'Ghazi Attack' held this place with the first day collection of Rs 1.65 crore.

Indeed, it is a little disappointment for Sonakshi Sinha as her last release 'Akira' too didn't do well at the box office last year. In fact, her last box office hit was three years ago with Akshay Kumar-starrer 'Holiday: A Soldier Is Never Off Duty'.

Currently, Sonakshi is seen judging celebrity based dance reality show 'Nach Baliye 8'. Besides, she is also busy with Abhay Chopra's 'Ittefaq' opposite Sidharth Malhotra and Akshaye Khanna.
