Last year, Bollywood actress Sonali Bendre as diagnosed with ‘high-grade cancer’. However, the Sarfarosh actress battled with the deadly disease like a fighter and never given up. She survived and became the inspiration for many. The actress has been open about her battle with cancer. And now, at a recent event, Sonali described about the importance of family and how it plays an important role in a tough fight against cancer. She also thanked another cancer survivor i.e. Manisha Koirala for her crusade against cancer.
Sonali said that her mother and husband Goldie Behl have been her biggest strength. "Goldie has been my rock and pillar of strength to help me fight cancer. Thank God, I decided to get married to him," she added.
The actress further said, "My mother always told me that human being matters more. Of course, there are times when you realise material things are also important, which gets you the treatment in the US, but even that cannot give you the joy the family gives and sees you through it. That is the most important thing."

"My family was shocked. But I was so fearless to make this decision. But I didn't realise with time, I had become fearful, especially when I turned into a parent. For Goldie and me, it has been a journey of being fearless. Of course, the journey continues. The best part is I am alive and I am here, and I cannot thank the Universe enough," she noted.
Tasking about the help that Manish Koirala gave her, the Bollywood diva said, "Manisha has been a big help. She has been through it and is a survivor. She has also written a lovely book about it."
It is to be noted that Manisha was diagnosed with ovarian cancer in 2012, but was declared cancer-free by mid-2014 after undergoing treatment.
