Sonam Kapoor Ahuja is not a person to mince words. Known for a frank, often unfiltered, comments, the actor took a jibe at Kangana Ranaut while speaking to Anaita Shroff Adajania, fashion stylist and fashion director at Vogue India, on her chat show.
Sonam had already exchanged blows with Kangana Ranaut with her infamous statement that "stars who are not good-looking are often considered 'good actors' on Karan Johar's popular chat show Koffee With Karan. The same year, Kangana, too became a part of the melee spilling the beans to BollywoodLife.
Kangana took a dig at her by saying, "Sonam has said that people who act well are ugly, I have heard. So do I get the crown of the ugliest person? Because after watching Queen, people have been telling me that I act really well. So according to Sonam, I am the ugliest actor in Bollywood today. And well, I accept that with all the gratitude and humbleness,"
It seems like the spar continues on Anaita’s Show as well. Anaita, a renowned name in the fashion industry, asked Sonam who in her opinion, is a troublemaker, Sonam answered, "Kangana Ranaut, in the best way possible. She wants to break the glass ceiling and you need to be a troublemaker to do that. Not a trouble maker, but someone who stirs the pot. She does it in the most incredible way, so kudos to her."
It may be recalled that Kangana has, in the past, almost locked horns with some of biggest and most powerful people in Bollywood. She has called Karan Johar the "flagbearer of nepotism" on his own chat show which led to a massive debate in Bollywood. Later, in a chat show with journalist Rajat Sharma, she unleashed her wrath at Hrithik Roshan, Adhyamaan Suman and frankly spoke about her abuse at the hands of Aditya Pancholi. This resulted in a public spat with Hrithik, with each party dashing of legal notices to each other.
Just a while back, Kangana had hit headlines as her co-star Sonu Sood had walked out of Manikarnika:The Queen of Jhansi. Kangana accused him of sexism saying that he doesn’t want to work under a woman director. She has pitched battles with Simran writer, Apurva Asrani in the past.
Recently, she was again in news when the director of her upcoming film, Manikarnika: The Queen of Jhansi, left the project midway and Kangana took over as its director. Right from the time the first look of the film released, there has been a lot of buzz and anticipation around the film. As per the reports, the historical will release next year on January 25.
