Bollywood singer Sonu Nigam stoked a controversy over early morning Azaan (mosque prayer) while dubbing it as cacophonous and intimidation in nature. But according to an Enlish daili is said that the Punjab and Haryana high court has said that Azaan (mosque prayer) is an important part of Islam is undoubtedly an integral part of Islam but it does not necessarily have to be blared through loudspeakers.
Justice Bedi has been quoted as saying: “A fair interpretation of the words used by respondent no 4 (Nigam) clearly indicates that the word ‘gundagardi’ in tweet no 4 is not addressed in the context of Azaan but the use of loudspeakers and amplifiers.”
The singer wrote on social media that despite being not a Muslim, he has to be woken up early morning, and questioned that when this forced religiousness would end in the country.
The petition was filed by Aas Mohammad of Sonepat in Haryana after he claimed that the singer’s tweets violated the Muslim community’s fundamental right and also hurt the religious sentiments of people.

In his series of tweets, he said that he does not like misuse of electricity and loudspeakers, especial if a person does not have faith in that particular religion.
