The singer shaved his head on live TV just after his press conference in Mumbai on Wednesday. Syed Sha Atef Ali Al Quaderi, vice-president, West Bengal United Minority Council, had issued a fatwa against Sonu Nigam which read: "If anyone can shave his hair, put a garland of old torn shoes around his neck and tour him around the country, I shall personally reward that person with Rs 10 lakh."
"Gundagardi hai bus (it is hooliganism)," Nigam had posted on Twitter, triggering a controversy. On Tuesday morning, Sonu Nigam took to micro blogging site where he has said that he is ready to apologise if he has said anything anti-Muslim which he did not. He even took a dig at a Muslim cleric, asking him to get ready with Rs ten lakh as he is ready to shave his head.
