Another sport's biopic is all set to hail Indian cinema as the talks have been around regarding the portrayal of ace shuttler P.V. Sindhu's life on the silver screen.

Actor-producer Sonu Sood has planned for a biopic on Sindhu, who became the first Indian woman to win a silver medal at the Rio Olymipics last year.

When asked Sonu about the project, he says, “It feels great to make a biopic on P.V. Sindhu. It’s a story of a girl who have inspired millions of Indians and given a message that everyone can dream big and not only dream but achieve it too by working hard. It’s a journey that everyone has to know and be inspired.”

Sindhu herself has given a thumbs up to the project and is excited about a film completely based on her life.

She says, “I am very honoured and pleased to know that Sonu Sood has decided to make a biopic on my journey. I’m very impressed with the thorough research that the team has done on my biopic for the last eight months. They have written a script which I am sure will inspire millions of Indians and our youngsters to dare to dream and achieve glory for the country in spite of all the hardships and hurdles that we all face in our journey.”

The rumours has it that Deepika Padukone had been approached for the film but nothing is yet confirmed.

When asked about the cast sonu replied, "We haven't locked yet on who will get into P V Sindhu's shoes. In all probability, the heroine and the director will be finalised and announced around the same time."

21-year-old Sindhu is currently World no.3 in the BWF World ranking. She is one of the two Indian badminton players to ever win an Olympic medal-other being Saina Nehwal.
