New Delhi:

Rohit Shetty recently was under the ire of netizens and Katrina Kapoor Khan for his controversial statement on Katrina sharing screen with Akshay Kumar, Ajay Devgn and Ranveer Singh in a scene from Sooryavanshi. Netizens sharing his statement called him ‘sexist’ and ‘insensitive’. Now Sooryavanshi actress Katrina has come out in defence of her filmmaker calling its statement used out of context and ‘misunderstood’ by many.

“Dear Friends and Well-wishers... I normally do not comment on media reports or articles... But in this case, I feel a comment made by Rohit Sir has been taken out of context and is been entirely misunderstood. I am referring to the comment as reported that Rohit Shetty said, ‘No one would look at me in the frame, as there are three boys there and a blast happening, this is not what was said,” Katrina wrote in a Instagram story.

Justifying Rohit’s statement, Katrina said that the filmmaker meant her ‘Blinking’ and not the actress as a whole when he said, “Tujhe kaun dekhega’.

“I mentioned that I had blinked in the shot, and Rohit sir said, 'there are four people together in the frame and a bomb blast happening, no one will notice you BLINKING.' Even, inspite of that, we still did one more take. I share a very warm equation and friendship with Rohit sir and have always enjoyed our discussions on everything from cinema to my character and, more importantly, he has always been there as a friend for me. This has been taken entirely taken out of context. Hope you all have a great day," she continued.

‘Shame on you Rohit Shetty’ recently made to Twitter trends over a statement he made about Katrina Kaif in the film. What happened was when in an interview he was quizzed which actor he chose to focus on in the monitor when the scene with all the cops and Katrina happened, he said, the scene was shot with three takes and in the fourt take Katrina blinked. "You have to watch the take thrice. The scene with the blast has Katrina (Kaif) too. If you look closely, she is blinking (during it). After the fourth take, she came to me and asked: Can we take one more? And I said, ‘Katrina, I will tell you honestly, no one is going to look at you.” said Shetty.

His weird answer irked Katrina who came back as ‘How could you say that to me’ to which he replied, since three men were walking with blasts happening in the background no one will pay heed to Katrina’s blinking eyes and decided to keep the shot. ‘’In the promo, she blinks while walking. But kaun dekhega?" added Rohit.

Netizens slammed the director of the cop-drama on Twitter.
