Nearly a year after Sri Devi’s death, speculations drew that husband and film maker, Booney Kapoor will soon be making a biopic on his late wife. The producer has, however come clean about the many biopic mulling on the legendary English Vinglish actor. Speaking exclusively to The Quint, the veteran film producer clarified that there is no truth to these reports. “There is no such plan, I have just registered the title and copyrighted the name so that no one else misuses it,” said Boney Kapoor.
With 2019 seeing a lot of biopic-based movies like The Accidental Prime Minister, Thackery, Pm Narendra Modi biopic, Boney was asked if there were any likely chances that a film on the popular actor will be made in the future. To this question, the producer replied, “You never know what can happen in the future, but as of now I am not.”

Sri Devi was for the last time seen onscreen in a special cameo the in Shah Rukh Khan starrer, Zero. Talking about her presence in the Anand L Rai directorial, Khan had earlier told ZoomTV.com, “It’s wrong to even kind of feel, ‘Oh, it’s a privilege to have had her in the film’, because, you know, just the loss is so great.”
“I hope wherever she is, she makes the world happy like she’s done. I kind of started my career when I came and did Army (1996) with her and then she’s no more and I have a little scene with her, so it’s heartening that way,” he added.
The legendary actor known actor known for movies such as Chaalbaaz, Lamhe, Sadma and English Vinglish, was found dead on February 24, 2018, in her hotel room in Dubai, where she’d gone to attend a family wedding.
