Actor-filmmaker Rajat Kapoor believes that style is about individual expression while fashion is external. Sharing his journey as an actor, director and theatre personality, Kapoor, 55, said he has learnt that it is not success that propels a persons creativity but his experiences, both good and bad.
“Since childhood I have been irrevocably in love with films and its craft. My journey in the acting world has been eventful and interesting; often I have worked on storylines and scripts where we end up with results which were way beyond initial imagination.
“What I learnt and carried with me was that success doesn’t necessarily mould an artist’s journey; a person’s own experiences, originality and style keeps him constantly inspired to produce unconventional cinema. Believing in uniqueness and distinctiveness has fuelled my style and contributed to my personality,” he said while sharing his story through the stage of Blenders Pride Reserve Collection.
Kapoor said he is not very fashion conscious but has a personal style. “I am not at all fashion conscious. Fashion and style are two different things. Style is intrinsic, while fashion is external.”
