Bollywood actress Kangana Ranaut is a ‘Queen’ of controversy and no one can deny it. She has the guts of calling a spade a spade. In recent times, the actress has targeted ace filmmaker Karan Johar, Alia Bhatt and Ranbir Kapoor. Likewise, Kangana’s sister Rangoli Chandel is known to speak her mind and due to it she often creates controversy. And now, Kangana in an interview has opened up about her film Manikarnika: The Queen of Jhansi.
It is to be noted that Manikarnika was involved in a lot of controversies. However, controversies did not affect the box-office collections Manikarnika as the film earned comprehensively. Recently, Manikarnika got selected for the Bucheon International Fantastic Film Festival. Along with Kangana’s film, Alia Bhatt-Ranveer Singh starrer Gully Boy and Ayushmann Khurrana’s AndhaDhun will also be screened at the festival. Importantly, the Bucheon International Fantastic Film Festival is the Asia’s largest film event.

In an interview with PinkVilla, Kangana opened up about the development. She said, “We are thrilled with this development, especially when Gully Boy was hailed by the entire industry and there was not a single word by anyone on Manikarnika. The movie mafia tried to kill this film but for Manikarnika to get commercial success and now international recognition along with other celebrated films is a big slap on movie mafia’s face. You can’t stop a good film especially in this time and age when the world is all one big family because of social media.”
On the work front, Kangana would next be seen in Mental Hai Kya alongside Rajkummar Rao. She would also be seen in Ashwini Iyer Tiwari’s Panga alongside Jassie Gill, Richa Chadha and Neena Gupta, which is slated to release on January 24, 2020. In the meantime, the 32-year-old actress also bagged the lead role in J Jayalalithaa’s biopic for which she is reportedly being paid a whopping amount of Rs 24 crore.
