It is not known to many that two of the recently released flicks Stree and Sui Dhaaga have a lot more in common other than the fact that both of the movies are racking up good numbers at the box-office. Trade analyst and film critic Taran Adarsh took to Twitter to point out some of the common factors between the two films.
The first common factor between the two flicks is that both Stree and Sui Dhaaga were filmed in Madhya Pradesh’s Chanderi.
The second one is both the lead actors of the films Rajkummar Rao in Stree and Varun Dhawan in Sui Dhaaga portrayed the part of a tailor.
The third thing which went unnoticed is that the name of both the movies begin with the same alphabet ‘S’ and are also box-office successes.
On revenue terms, Stree, with its rave reviews and good word-of-mouth earned more than Rs 120 crore making it's place in the coveted 100 crore club while Sui Dhaaga has churned out more than Rs 30 crore in its first weekend and is angled upwards at the box-office because of the national holiday of Gandhi Jayanti.
However, both the movies have paved a way for content-driven movies hitting the marquee which has inspired filmmakers to adapt to the changing palate of the audience.
