The film is based on the life of Patna-based mathematician Anand Kumar, who teaches underprivileged kids for free and helps them crack the IIT entrance exam. Released on July 12, the film is giving tough competition to new Bollywood releases like Kangana Ranaut's Judgementall Hai Kya and Diljit Dosanjh's Arjun Patiala.
Also, the film has succeeded in competing against Disney's The Lion King. Speaking about the commercial success of Super 30, Hrithik in an interview to Hindustan Times, said, "It is similar to how I felt when my first film Kaho Naa… Pyaar Hai (2000) had released. Box office collections do have some sort of importance, as they indicate that the audiences have accepted your work and connected to it in some way.''
Apart from Hrithik Roshan, the film also stars Pankaj Tripathi, Mrunal Thakur, Aditya Srivastava, Nandish Singh Sandhu and Amit Sadh, among others. Hrithik will next be seen with Tiger Shroff in Siddharth Anand's War. The film, which is produced by Yash Raj Films, is set to hit the screens on October 2.
