Taapsee Pannu is basking on the great reviews of her last few films from Badla to Game Over recently expressed her wish to star in a biopic on Indian womens' cricket skipper Mithali Raj.
Taapsee Pannu was interacting with the media when she met cancer-affected children as a part of fundraising initiative by a radio station on Friday in Mumbai.
When asked about the development by News Nation, Taapsee quipped, "If I will get that film then it will be a lot of fun by playing cricket in it. If someone amongst you (media) know makers of that film then, please recommend my name to them because I really wanted to get signed for that film (laughs)."
When the actress was quized about rumours of her playing the role of Amrita Pritam she said that she has not been approached for the role yet, however expressed her interest in doing so.'I would love to do this role, but I have not been approached for the role yet,'' the actress replied.
Sanjay Leela Bhansali, who is producing the film, earlier told a publication,''Sahir sa'ab was one of our most talented poet lyricists; his verses are still inspiring. To bring them back through his love story will be beautiful but also a huge responsibility.''''It’s a difficult film for the writer-director Jasmeet Reen too, so I don’t want to be in a hurry but give it the darza it deserves,'' added the filmmaker.
Taapsee will be next seen in Saand Ki Aankh alongside Bhumi Pednekar.
The film is based on the inspiring real-life story of the Tomar sisters - Bhumi as the 87-year-old sharpshooter Chandro Tomar and Taapsee as her 82-year-old sister-in-law Prakashi Tomar.
The film’s teaser came out yesterday and received rave reviews from everyone.The film is being produced by Anurag Kashyap and is slated to hit the screens on October 25, 2019.
