The hashtag #TalkToAMuslim took Twitter by storm on Tuesday as social media influencers like Gauahar Khan, Swara Bhasker and Rana Safvi tweeted while using the hashtag which aims at killing hate and Islamophobia.
The trend was initiated to help people overcome misconceptions about the Muslim community by engaging in a conversation.
Gauahar Khan took to Twitter and extended her support to the movement by posting a series of tweets. She began by writing, “It’s so sad that @BJP4India political agenda is only n only against Muslims in this country! A humble request to@PMOIndia to lead this country with love for all its citizens!why should every headline be only pitting us against each other! #unityIndiversity remember???â€

It started when Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) attacked the opposition leader Rahul Gandhi for calling the Congress a ‘Muslim party,’ during a meeting with Muslim leaders and activists.
The BJP accused the Congress chief of trying to get minority votes ahead of the 2019 national election.
The Congress leader rubbished the claims but the politics over the Hindu-Muslim sentiments led to the emergence of the hashtag #TalkToAMuslim.
