Ajay Devgn’s latest release, Tanhaji: The Unsung Warrior is unstoppable at the box-office. The film has earned an estimated Rs 15.5 crore at the ticket windows on its second Saturday, taking the total collections to Rs 141 crore in nine days, as per a report in Box Office India. The film collected Rs 10.06 crore on Friday. It crossed Rs 100-crore mark on its sixth day (Wednesday). Till Thursday, the film had earned Rs 118.91 crore.

This is Ajay Devgn's fifth consecutive film to cross the Rs 100 crore mark after De De Pyaar De (2019), Total Dhamaal (2019), Raid (2018) and Golmaal Again (2017). Tanhaji is also the first Rs 100 crore film for Saif Ali Khan after his 2013 film Race 2. Following the success of the movie, Tanhaji star Ajay Devgn took to social media to thank his fans. Set in the 17th centuary, the biographical film is based on the life of Tanaji Malusare, a military leader in the army of Maratha ruler Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj. Saif plays the role of the antagonist Uday Bhan, while Kajol is seen as Savitribai Mausare, wife of the great warrior Tanaji Malusare.
Talking about the film, Ajay had earlier said, ''You have to be careful and honest to history. After from being careful, we followed the history. If someone asks us questions we can show that it is a part of history.'' "When you play the part of Tanhaji, who has been a such a big warrior hero, the responsibility is more. It is important you do not portray such characters wrongly," he added.
The film is being directed by Om Raut and produced jointly by T-Series and Ajay Devgn. It hit the screens on 10 January, 2020.
