Tanushree Dutta, after igniting the fire of #MeToo movement across the media industry, is now all set to return to New Jersey. The actor is ready to bid goodbye to India. Tanushree revealed her plans of going back to the US in a conversation with a leading daily.

In an interview with Mid-Day, Tanushree stated, “My future lies there. I will head out early next year. When I came down to Mumbai, I thought I would go back after a month, but it’s been five months.”

Tanushree had recently revived a 10-year-old controversy in which she alleged she was harassed by an actor. Former Miss India and Bollywood actor Tanushree who had been away from the country for quite some time returned to India in July this year. In a recent interview with Zoom TV, Tanushree made a shocking revelation on Nana Patekar’s alleged indecent behaviour with her in 2009 on the sets of 2009 film Horn 'Ok' Pleassss.

In another revelation, Tanushree revealed that during the shoot of her film ‘Chocolate: Deep Dark Secrets’, director Vivek Agnihotri had demanded her to strip and dance in front of Irrfan Khan to help him with the cues. The film was released in 2005 and starred Irrfan Khan, Anil Kapoor, Suniel Shetty, Emraan Hashmi in prominent roles.

While the sexual harassment and intimidating allegations surfaced, many Bollywood celebrities, including Raveena Tandon, Twinkle KhannaFarhan AkhtarPriyanka Chopra, among others are standing in support of Tanushree.

The Aashiq Banaya Aapne actor, while talking about the movement that took such a bigger form, said, “I do not look at it as now hot, now cold. Such things are a revolution. What matters is its impact in the future. It has created an atmosphere where sexual predators are aware that they cannot get away with misbehaviour. It came as a surprise when women began calling out the sexual predators. I am aware that #MeToo cannot be front page news every day.”

“I have been living with it for a decade without redressal. The legal process is not dependent on me being around. If I have to be around to push the case, what is the point of the legal system and law enforcers?” added the actor.

Tanushree Dutta debuted in 2005 film Aashiq Banaya Aapne, co-starring Emraan Hashmi and Sonu Sood. She starred in films like DholGood Boy, Bad Boy and Apartment, which was her last onscreen appearance.
