Meanwhile, Taapsee has been receiving immense praise for her role in Saand Ki Aankh. The film, which also stars Bhumi Pednekar, had a damp opening but the collections for second Friday were better than the first one. Trade analyst Taran Adarsh tweeted the figures on Saturday and wrote, “#SaandKiAankh continues to track well... Weekend 2 is performing much better than Weekend 1... Biz should escalate on
The film chronicles the story of the world’s oldest sharpshooters, Chandro and Prakashi Tomar, played by Taapsee and Bhumi Pednekar. Talking about the film, she had said, ''I wanted to do a film that has equal roles for two heroines. I got to know that the team was working on one such story. It is a story of those women, who lived their life as per the desire of their parents, after marriage lived as per their husbands' desire and will, and then lived for their children. When did she live her life then?.''
"We have not shown anything that has not happened in their life. The film was shot in front of them. We have not added any emotional angle forcefully in the film,'' she added.
Earlier this year, she essayed the role of a scientist in Mission Mangal in which she was seen alongside Akshay Kumar and Vidya Balan.
