REVEALED! First look of Amrita Rao’s big-ticket comeback as Meena Tai Thackeray is finally here!

Amrita Rao’s first look as the wife of the Shiv Sena founder Balasaheb Thackeray, played by actor Nawazuddin Siddiqui, is finally here! While the trailer of 'Thackeray' saw the multi-farious Siddiqui in his powerful portrayal as the political leader, the look of Amrita as Meenatai Thackeray has been kept under wraps. Also known as Maa Saheb, the makers have finally revealed Amrita's look as the wife of Thackeray.

Looking docile yet alarmingly beautiful, Amrita's look is worth all the wait. Her first look shows the 'Vivah' actor wearing a traditional saree with a long, beaded necklace and matching beaded, flower pair of earrings. Keeping her hair all bunned up loosely with a red sindoor, Amrita Rao looked gorgeous as ever.

Talking about her role as the wife of Thackery, Amrita Rao said, “When producer Sanjay Raut and director Abhijit Panse approached me for the film, they told me that their search for Meenatai Thackeray began and ended with me, because of the public perception that I’ve created with my work. I felt proud of that because, I have always chosen to have an identity of my own and have never given into the rat race. I’ve earned my image in this industry with the choices that I have made. I have been blessed with some brilliant work. Today, I feel that I have earned the role of Meenatai Thackeray in the biopic.”

Film's producer and Shivsena MP, Sanjay Raut are already all in praise for Amrita. “The most difficult character to play was Aai's character ( wife of Balasaheb Thackeray) as she has not appeared anywhere and she was also not in limelight, but still Amrita Rao did justice to the character and played it very gracefully and portrayed her what she was in reality", he said.

The film is slated to release on 25th January 2019.
