It seems like Indian theatres have been possessed by demons and ghosts as most of the recently released are horror movies. Bollywood’s Stree and Hollywood’s The Nun are leaving no stone unturned in giving nightmares to movie bugs and even giving tough competition to each other at the box office. Both the flicks are heading towards making huge bucks for their production houses.
Rajkummar Rao-Shraddha Kapoor starrer Stree was released on August 31 and with its strong storyline and good word-of-mouth, the movie has managed to rock the box office and has been declared a super hit.

Meanwhile, the fifth instalment of the The Conjuring Universe hit the theatres on September 7 and registered a record breaking opening day at the box office. The movie bagged Rs 8 crore on the first day which is the highest for any movie in the conjuring series in India.
The movie churned out Rs 10.20 crore on its second day and is expected to cross Rs 30 crore mark in its first weekend while Stree earned Rs 7.63 crore on Saturday and Rs 9.88 crore on Sunday, making a total of Rs 21.90 crore in its second weekend.
The plot of the movie The Nun revolves around a nun ‘Valak’ in Romania who seemingly committed suicide by hanging herself and a Father along with a young Sister comes to investigate the case and what is waiting for them comprises the story.
Helmed by Corin Hardy, The Nun has been released in 1603 screen across India.
