Priyanka Chopra and Farhan Akhtar’s The Sky Is Pink, which hit the screens on 11 October opened on a low note with earning just Rs 2.50 crore on the first day of release. On Saturday, the film saw a steady rise in its collections as it minted another Rs 4 crore on its second day, taking the film's total collection to Rs 6.50 crore.
The box office collection of The Sky Is Pink is getting a stiff competition from Hrithik Roshan and Tiger Shroff's War. The film has already broken several records at the box office and is being considered the best performing film of 2019.
The Shonali Bose's directorial had received a standing ovation at the Toronto International Film Festival, where it premiered, and has been praised by several Bollywood celebrities.

Priyanka also appeared on The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon to promote the film. The Sky is Pink has become the first Hindi film to be promoted on the US TV show. With this film, PeeCee made a comeback in Bollywood after three long years. The film also stars Dangal star Zaira Wasim and a charming newcomer Rohit Saraf. For the uninitiated, this will be Zaira’s last film in Bollywood.
In a long post in June, Zaira announced that she had decided to quit Bollywood, as it was interfering with her "Imaan" and her "relationship with her religion felt threatened". "Five years ago, I made a decision that changed my life forever. As I stepped my foot in Bollywood, it opened doors of massive popularity for me. I started to become the prime candidate of public attention, I was projected as the gospel of the idea of success and was often identified as a role model for the youth. However, that's never something that I set out to do or become, especially with regards to my ideas of success and failure, which I had just started to explore and understand," Zaira had written in the lengthy post.
