Tiger Shroff starrer Baaghi 2 has shattered all box office records, making him the new action hero of Bollywood. The action thriller which hit the silver screens on March 30 is enjoying a glorious run at the domestic box office.
The flick opened with a massive response and minted Rs 25.10 crore on the first day itself, beating Padmaavat to become the highest opener of the year. The Ahmed Khan directorial raked in Rs 27.60 crore on Sunday to take its total collection to over Rs 73 crore.
Overwhelmed with the response, Tiger Shroff took to social media to thank his fans and family for the love and support. He said, ‘’I feel like I'm still dreaming because this was really something that I could never even dream of in my wildest dreams or even dare to dream of.’’
Trade pundits were expecting Baaghi 2 to open with a figure of Rs 15-20 crore but the film surpassed all the expectations. The movie which also stars Disha Patani has been appreciated for its high-octane action sequences.
Critics and various Bollywood celebrities have applauded Tiger Shroff his performance in the film.
Interestingly, Baaghi 2 had the second best opening weekend for Bollywood in 2018. Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s magnum opus Padmaavat is the only film which has collected more than Baaghi 2 in its opening weekend.
