Akshay Kumar-starrer 'Toilet Ek Prem Katha' which is happened to be one of the much-awaited movies of the year, has opened up on a good note at the box office and is expected to get a further boost during Independence Day.
'Toilet Ek Prem Katha' which is a satirical comedy film in support of Prime Minister Narendra Modi's 'Swachh Bharat Abhiyan' has amassed a stupendous amount of Rs 13.10 cr on the first day of its release. It reportedly witnessed a rapid growth during afternoon shows and is said to have left a good impression on the viewers.
Taran Adarsh, film critic, and trade analyst took to micro-blogging site Twitter to share the first-day collection of Akshay Kumar and Bhumi Pednekar-starrer 'Toilet Ek Prem Katha'.

Directed by Shree Narayan Singh, 'Toilet: Ek Prem Katha' emphasises on the eradication of open defecation in public places, especially in the rural areas of India.
Also starring Bhumi Pednekar, Sana Khan and Anupam Kher in key roles, the comedy drama has hit the screens on August 11, 2017.
On the work front, while Akshay is busy shooting his other upcoming ventures like 'Padman', '2.0' 'Gold' and others, 'Dum Laga Ke Haisha' fame Bhumi Pednekar will be next seen in Rs Prasanna's 'Shubh Mangal Savdhan'.
With Ayushmann Khurrana in the lead, the movie is slated to release on September 1, 2017.
