Toilet: Ek Prem Katha deals with the need for sanitation in India

Akshay Kumar has received good wishes for his latest release Toilet: Ek Prem Katha from a rather unexpected quarter.

Hollywood diva Salma Hayek Hayek on Saturday took to Twitter to convey her wishes to Khiladi Kumar. Hayek also stressed on ending open defecation.

Salma Hayek has also said no woman should fear to go to the toilet.

"Good luck to Akshay Kumar on 'Toilet: Ek Prem Katha' out today! End open defecation now! No woman should fear going to the toilet!" Hayek tweeted.

Akshay thanked the Wild Wild West star for supporting their "small effort" to end open defecation.

"Thank you for your wishes for our small effort (towards making the country open defecation free...)," Akshay wrote.

Akshay met Hayek in Dubai at the Global Teachers Prize 2016. Interestingly, even the official handle of United Nations, Environment, also tweeted about the film.

Directed by Shree Narayan Singh, Toilet: Ek Prem Katha deals with the need for sanitation in India and is based on Prime Minister Narendra Modi's Swachh Bharat (Clean India) campaign.
