Twitterati not happy with CBFC's take on Govinda starrer Pahlaj Nihalani’s Rangeela Raja

Govinda’s Rangeela Raja was set to release on November 16, but the Central Board of Film Certification has ordered cuts to Pahlaj Nihalani’s film in order for passing the film. Pahlaj has also hit out at current CBFC chief Prasoon Joshi, according to LiveLaw, calling him a “political appointee” who is acting with “malafide intentions”. The CBFC wants a dialogue that refers to Ram cut, Pahlaj said, because of the upcoming 2019 elections, for which a Ram temple in Ayodhya will be on the election agenda. However, the netizens are standing with Govinda and rooting for the film's release.

The Twitterati are not happy with CBFC’s order to cut scenes and delay the release of the film. #BringRangeelaRajaOnNov16 has been trending on Twitter, where netizens are demanding the film to be released on its pre-decided date. While one cybernaut tweeted, “The CBFC needs an exchange that alludes to Slam cut, Nihalani stated, as a result of the up and coming 2019 races, for which a Smash sanctuary in Ayodhya will be on the decision plan. @iRangeelaRaja #BringRangeelaRajaOnNov16,” “A simple comedy movie like @iRangeelaRaja CBFC has a problem with that too?? #BringRangeelaRajaOnNov16,” wrote another.

Rangeela Raja, starring Govinda, is written and produced by Pahlaj. The two, who have worked together in hit films Ilzaam (1986), Shola aur Shabnam(1992) and Aankhen (1993), are working together after 25 years. Govinda will be donning a double role in the film - one is a womanising businessman while the other is a deeply religious man.
