Veteran actor Rishi Kapoor breathed his last on April 30. The actor was admitted to HN Reliance Hospital in Mumbai on Wednesday morning. Rishi Kapoor was battling cancer since 2018, and was in the US for treatment for a year. The actor's brother, Randhir Kapoor, told the media on Wednesday night that he was admitted to the hospital due to his health deteriorating.

Rishi was diagnosed with cancer in 2018 and he returned to India from New York in September last year, after his cancer treatment. He was taken to the hospital on Wednesday morning, his brother Randhir Kapoor said yesterday.

Information and Broadcasting Minister Prakash Javadekar on Thursday condoled the death of actor Rishi Kapoor, saying he was not only a great actor but also a good human being. "The sudden demise of actor Rishi Kapoor is shocking. He was not only a great actor but a good human being. Heartfelt condolences to his family, friends and fans. Om Shanti," Javadekar said in his tweet.The veteran actor, who was suffering from cancer, died in a Mumbai hospital on Thursday, his brother Randhir Kapoor said. He was 67. He was admitted to the H N Reliance hospital by his family on Wednesday.
