Hindi Film Industry’s veteran singer Mohammad Aziz breathed his last in Mumbai’s Nanavati Hospital on Tuesday at the age of 64. The singer was known for his soulful voice that graced over 2,000 songs in Hindi, Bengali and Odia films. Many personalities from the B-town fraternity paid tribute to the well-known singer on Wednesday.

While Shravan Rathod, Navin Prabhakar, Sunil Pal, Ahsaan Qureshi, Raza Murad, Udit Narayan, Sadhana Sargam, Suresh Wadkar, Sukhwinder Singh and Abhijeet Bhattacharya attended Aziz's funeral in Mumbai, many other celebrities took to their Twitter handle to share heartfelt condolence over the loss of a great artist.

Singer Udit Narayan said, "We have lost a great artist and a good human being today. He was my dear friend and really good singer. He delivered super hit songs over the years in his musical career. It's a huge loss for all of us and the film industry and may his soul rest in peace."

Actor-turned-politician Shatrughan Sinha tweeted, “Sincerest & heartfelt condolences on the sad demise of #MohammedAziz. He was a humble & talented singer. He has over 20 thousand songs to his credit spanning a career over 3 decades. Having begun his career from Bengali films he got his biggest break with the chartbusters”

The Mr India star Anil Kapoor also took to his Twitter to write, “Giving life to so many songs with his melodious voice, including My Name Is Lakhan. #MohammedAziz will be remembered & missed truly...”

The ardent singer started his musical career as a singer in the restaurant Ghalib in Kolkata and got his first break when music director Anu Malik got him to sing for Amitabh Bachchan starrer Mard. Aziz has sung for several A-list actors such as Amitabh Bachchan, Rishi Kapoor, Govinda and Mithun Chakraborty.
