Twitteratis shower love and Bollywood sings praises for 'Udta Punjab'

After much controversies and fanfare, 'Udta Punjab' finally hit the theatres on 17 June after the Supreme Court and the Punjab and Haryana High Court cleared the way for its release.

The Shahid Kapoor-Alia Bhatt starred film was the talk of the town and landed in trouble for its projection of Punjab’s drugs menace. The Censor Board demanded 89 cuts in the movie over excessive swearing and the use of the word ‘Punjab’. However, Twitterati's and celebrities on other social media have reacted in a positive way. The actors of the film, Shahid Kapoor, Kareena Kapoor Khan and Alia Bhatt have received applauds from the audience for their power packed performances. (Also read: 'Udta Punjab' leaked online?
