Vicky Kaushal, who is sailing deep in the waters of celebration as his performance in Manmarziyaan was widely appreciated by the audiences and critics, unveiled the poster of his upcoming war-drama ‘Uri’ on Friday. Aditya Dhar directorial Uri is based on the true event of the surgical strike conducted by the Indian military against the suspected militants in Pakistan occupied Kashmir. The poster reveals the intense look on Vicky, which is both intriguing as well as impressive.

Featured in the backdrop of the dense forest, the actor stands tall in front and centre as an army commander in chief who is leading his troop for the strike. The men are armed with guns and ready for battle.
The ‘Masaan’ actor took to his Instagram handle to share the poster of ‘Uri’ and highlighted that the teaser will also be released on Friday. He wrote, “In the early hours of 29th September 2016, Indian soldiers avenged those who were martyred in the URI attacks. This is their brave story. #URITeaser out today at 12 noon.”

He later shared the teaser with a caption that read, “A defining moment in India’s military history. A moment that paved a path to a new, stronger India.

The movie will narrate the event of the surgical strike conducted by Indian army in response to the militant attack on the base which caused the death of 19 Indian soldiers. It threads the story of the 11 fierce events that were covered during the span of this operation.

Produced under the banner of Ronnie Screwvala, Uri also stars Yami Gautam, Kirti Kulhari, Paresh Rawal, and Mohit Raina in prominent roles. The movie is slated to hit the theatres on January 11, 2019.
