Kabir Khan's upcoming directorial venture '83 based on India's iconic win at 1983 Cricket World Cup has already roped in several Bollywood A-listers like Ranveer Singh as Kapil Dev and Pankaj Tripathi as play manager PR Man Singh.
Now reports suggest a new actor will soon join the ensemble cast. Dhairya Karwa, who was last seen in the role of Captain Sartaj Singh Chandok in Uri: The Surgical Strike, will essay the character of Ravi Shastri who played a pivotal role as an opening batsman in India's historic World Cup win in 1983.Â

Ranveer Singh has already started prepping up to play former Indian skipper Kapil Dev. The flick will be his first trilingual film and without any lip-syncing songs.
Others stars who have been cast in the film are South Indian superstar Jiva, famous YouTuber and television host Sahil Khattar, and former cricketer Sandip Patel's son, Chirag Patel.

The shooting is slated to begin on May 15 and Kabir Khan will shoot at various locations including London and Scotland. The 100-day schedule will comprise of a training camp for the cast for 10 days in Dharamshala, along with a training session in Mumbai for a week.
World Cup stays to be one of the most etched events in the minds of the cricket fans and the excitement to relive the moment on the silver screen is immense. Presented by Reliance Entertainment and produced by Madhu Mantena, Vishnu Induri and Kabir Khan, the film will be released in 2020.
