Varun Dhawan, who has not delivered even a single flop at the box-office has proved that he is the future of Bollywood. Reportedly, the ‘Badlapur’ will now bill a whopping amount of Rs 25 crore to the producers.
In the year 2017, Varun Dhawan gave two treats at the box-office, ‘Badrinath Ki Dulhania’ and ‘Judwaa 2’. His latest release ‘Judwaa 2’ is running successfully at the box-office.
Speaking on his fees hike, a trade source said, “Akshay Kumar has worked out a different way of charging money. He charges Rs 20 crores as his fees, but ends up taking 80 per cent of the profits. Salman, Shah Rukh and Aamir come on board as producers as well for their films, so the figure automatically is higher. Ajay charges Rs 40 crore per film, because of his Rs 400 crore Star TV deal for the satellite rights of his movies. Hrithik charges upwards of Rs 30 crore per film’’.
Trade analyst Atul Mohan says that Varun does not do things beyond what his abilities are and at the same time he is immensely likeable. He further said that he comes from a film family and is the son of one of the most successful commercial directors of Bollywood because of which the advice given to Varun worked well.
Currently, Varun Dhawan is busy shooting for ‘Sui Dhaaga’ which also features Anushka Sharma in lead role. A teaser of the film was release on the occasion of Gandhi Jayanti.
