Kareena Kapoor Khan, who was last seen in 2016 Indian black comedy drama Udta Punjab, is gearing up for her upcoming film Veere Di Wedding.

After a maternity break of two years, the Pataudi queen is making a BIG come back to the silver screen and on Tuesday attended the Veere Di Wedding music launch event in Mumbai.

Being asked about the ideas of feminism at the music launch ceremony, the Raabta actress said she considers herself a human being first.

"I believe in equality. I wouldn’t say I am a feminist, I would say I am a woman and above all, I am a human being. I am also as proud to be known as Saif Ali Khan’s wife, as I am to be Kareena Kapoor. So that is just the way I am," Kareena was quoted at the music launch event last evening.

Kareena, who has always been open about her relationships, plays a commitment phobic woman, Kali in Veere Di Wedding.

Talking about her role selection criteria Kareena said, "I think what made me take up this part is that for me, as a commercial mainstream actor who is always used to work with mainstream actors, be it Shah Rukh Khan or Salman Khan... For me, it was very different to be part of a film with four girls."

"I think the story is something I got completely obsessed by and I thought it was really cool. And I think who better than this entire team to put this film together.I think this was the reason I wanted to do Veere Di Wedding. As far as my character Kalindi is concerned, I think she is really cool and there is a reason why she is commitment phobic, which will be seen in the film," she added.

Asked how her personal stand affects her film choices, the actor said, "What made me take this role up is because for a mainstream actor who has mostly worked with commercial actors like Shah Rukh, Aamir and Salman, is now doing a completely new story with three female actors.

"I was obsessed by the story, I thought it was very cool," the Kabhi Khushi Kabhi Gham actrss concluded.

Helmed by Shashanka Ghosh, Veere Di Wedding revolves around the lives of four female buddies in an urban setting.
