Dharma Production is all set to venture into an untraversed territory with a horror franchise. The movie will feature Vicky Kaushal in lead role and will be helmed by debutant Bhanu Pratap Singh, who has earlier assisted Shashank Khaitan on Humpty Sharma Ki Dulhania (2014).Â
Titled Bhoot – Part One: The Haunted Ship the movie will be produced by Hiroo Johar, Apoorva Mehta along with Karn Johar's Dharma Productions.
According to DNA, the idea for the script came from Bhanu, a horror enthusiast. Later, he started working on the concept and developed it with the Dhadak director, who suggested taking it to Dharma Productions.

This will be Karan Johar secound horror outing after his multi-starrer that failed at the box office in 2005.
Shashank told DNA, “Karan loved it. Bhoot – Part One: The Haunted Ship is based on a true incident that took place in Bombay. "
The shooting is complete. The post-production is underway and the film will open in cinemas on November 15 this year.
